If you’ve ever taken a walk in Valletta at sundown in winter you’ve surely noticed the air is usually filled with loud noises of bird calls. Looking up, you will inevitably see large numbers of White Wagtails flocking to the Ficus trees near St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Law Courts.
The annual tradition to gather in Valletta and count the roosts of these charming birds has been going on since 1985 and, of course, we’re not skipping 2026! Join us on 17 January outside Valletta from where we will take a walk to the roosting sites to arrive there in time with the birds.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to take part in an experience every nature lover should be part of! Exciting activities are planned for both adults and children.
