*TICKETING & DOOR POLICY*
Whilst we occasionally run ticketed Friday Night Specials, entry for our regular weekly Thursday club nights is on a first-come-first-served basis and unticketed and we do not take advanced seat bookings.
Entry for regular club nights is free, we pay our guests by way of a *CASH* collection. Whilst we understand that some simply haven't the means to make a contribution and absolutely DO NOT wish to exclude them, we expect those who can to make as generous a donation as they are able in recognition of our guest's work.
*PLEASE CHECK FOR UPDATES BEFORE SETTING OUT*
Life is full of unexpected ups and downs, illness, weather and other unexpected things can spoil the best made plans. We may sometimes have to change our guest at short notice, or even cancel an evening altogether. To avoid disappointment please re-visit the relevant night's event for updates *BEFORE* setting out.
*WHITE SAIL
White Sail - Alt-folk chroniclers of Love, Life, Land & Sea
White Sail are York-based trio Sarah Dean, Jane Stockdale & Chris Bartram. With a glorious melding of harmony vocals & guitars, mandolin, Celtic harp, Appalachian dulcimer, shruti box, trumpet, flute, woodwinds & percussion, the trio perform their own unique material at gigs and festivals. Taking their inspiration from nature, history & heritage they write about love, life, the land and the sea. The stories are told with passion and sublime musicality. The songs are set against soundscapes that are joyous, vibrant and at times, gentle and mesmeric. They also weave their unique magic on the contemporary & traditional.
The last five years have seen the band delight audiences around the country, at folk clubs, festivals & radio shows. Their growing reputation has led to gigs with many artists including RAY COOPER (ex-OYSTERBAND), SIOBHAN MILLER, HEATHER FINDLAY BAND and LUNA ROSSA. Most recently, October 2021, White Sail were the official support for LIAM Ó MAONLAI of Hothouse Flowers on his sold-out 10-date tour of the north of England. As well as our support slot, they joined Liam onstage for many of his songs.
Their brand-new EP 'This Great Ocean has had excellent reviews, and you can listen to this and their other music here: https://whitesailband.bandcamp.com

Testimonials...
"The first time I saw White Sail they easily won over the audience with their sensitive musicality and the fragile charm of Jane's voice. Since then they have only got better..." Ray Cooper (singer-songwriter, ex-OYSTERBAND)
"...this (WINTERTIDE) looks wonderful, look forward to hearing it!, and it's great to hear the band is doing well" Steve Hackett (Guitar God, ex GENESIS)
"..next up...this is the new Winter single 'WinterTide' from the trio White Sail, you all know Sarah Dean and her harp from her work with Heather Findlay and Luna Rossa...but this is just beautifully atmospheric, I know you're going to enjoy this...a band to listen out for..." DJ Phil Meek (RADIO CAROLINE)
“The combined talents of Jane Stockdale, Chris Bartram and Sarah Dean are truly incredible, this is music that is good for the heart and the soul, a tonic we all need these days - wonderful stuff! “ Review from Alan Hewitt in The Waiting Room.
