White House Farm Butterfly Count 2026
Advertisement
We are seeking volunteers of all experience levels to help us count butterflies in the White House Farm riparian meadow. Data will support the annual survey by the North American Butterfly Association.
Location: White House Farm in Luray, VA. Detailed parking directions will be sent to you via email prior to the event. Please note that the Farm is not normally open to the public.
Attire: Dress for the weather, and keep in mind that the meadow has a high population of ticks. We recommend wearing long pants and socks, and tucking in all clothing items.
Supplies: If you have them, close-focusing binoculars or a camera with a zoom lens can be helpful for spotting and identifying butterflies. Please bring sunscreen, bug spray, and your own bottle of water to drink.
RSVP: Registration is required at whfarmfoundation.org/event-info/2026-naba-butterfly-count
