OPERATION WHISKEY TRAIL Scottish Nationals
A BOLT ACTION TOURNAMENT
Welcome to Operation Whiskey Trail Scottish Nationals, a two-day Bolt-Action Tournament held at Draco Gaming, Elgin, Scotland and hosted by Terry Millard. This tournament will entail 5 games played over 2 days with Trophies for 1st 2nd 3rd bast painted army, best painted figure, Balls of Steel (biggest K*ll points total), Forlorn hope (most K*ll points lost)
Bolt Action Scotland encourage players of all calibre to their events, with a seasoned core of knowledgeable gamers who will assist those taking their first foray into playing multiple game events. The tournament will take place between Sat 12 and Sun 13 September 2026, with spaces for 36 players.

What You will Need:
• Your Army
• Order Dice – Ideally 2 sets
• Templates
• D6 – Enough to be able to ‘fast dice roll’
• Rule Book
• Latest FAQ
• Armies Of Book
• Army List and a pen or 2.
Army Composition:
This event has no gimmicks or added side quest’s. All games are from the book using the rules as written with the aid of the latest FAQ and Erratas. Tie breakers are K*ll points (not dice lost)
• 1150Pts from “Armies of” books only or main rule book if there isn’t an official army book. Minor nations can use the official Warlord Games PDF.
• Max 20 Order Dice limit.
• Army build, No restrictions whatsoever except a minimum and Maximum of one Infantry Plt plus one each of all other Plt options.
• Army Lists to be submitted via e-mail using Warlord app or Army builder to [email protected] NLT Midnight 1st September so I can check them. Please include your name on the email title.
Game composition:
• Game length will be limited to 2:15Hrs
• 1st round will be drawn by the TO, the remaining rounds will be based on Swiss Draw system.
• Calls will be made by the TO for time remaining. The TO timer is the official timer for each battle.
• At the call of ‘time’ no more order dice are to be drawn and any order dice currently being resolved must be concluded in full. The end game sequence is then completed in full.
• Scenarios will be released 1 week prior to the tournament on the Bolt Action Scotland FB page linked with this tournament
• Scoring will be recorded on Best Coast Pairings App.
Conduct:
• All Bolt Action Scotland events encourage players of all calibres. Even though this is a competitive event, friendly play is to be observed at all times. The TO will be monitoring throughout the weekend.
• Slow play by experienced players is considered unsporting and is to be reported to the TO.
• Refusing to play any opponent will result in disqualification.
• Rules queries are to be resolved in the following order:
o Resolve at the table with your rule book, FAQ and with your opponent.
o Call the TO to resolve. Please do not interrupt other players in the middle of their game for an interpretation and please despite good intentions, do not intervene with a neighbour to resolve their issue.
• Dice rolling: Dice are to be rolled in a dice tray or on the flattest area of the tabletop within your gaming area. Any dice not perfectly flat on a table surface or resting on any scenery flat or otherwise are deemed cocked and must be re-rolled.

Gaming Tables:
• Games will be played on 6 x 4 playing area.
• Where possible, players will not play on the same table more than once. Where this is not possible we can only apologise, take it a s a bonus that your scouts have been out gathering info.

• 09:15 Doors open
• 09:30 book in and welcome brief.
• 10:00 Game 1
• 12:15 Lunch Best Painted Armies displayed on separate table.
• 13:00 Game 2
• 15:15 break
• 15:30 Game 3
• 17:45 finish. Armies may be left in the hall on the bolt action tables (at your own risk).
Sunday 13th September
• 10:15 Doors open
• 10:30 Game 4
• 12:45 Lunch
• 13:30 Game 5
• 15:45 Finish, tidy away scenery.
• 16:15 Awards and goodbyes.
Prizes: No one player can take more than one trophy home except best painted.
• 1st Place
• 2nd Place
• 3rd Place
• Player Nominated Best Painted Army.
• TO Nominated Best Painted Unit or figure
• Balls of Steel, Largest K*ll points earned over all games
• Forlorn Hope, most K*ll points lost over all games.
Location/Venue/Menu
• Draco Gaming, Kilmolymock Lodge, 12 Academy Street, Elgin, IV30 1LJ Lunch will be provided on both days. If you have specific dietary requirements please inform the TO when booking a ticket.
• Nearest Airports – Inverness (30 Miles) Aberdeen (55 Miles) Both Airports have rail links that will take you to Elgin Rail Station, we also have a good selection of local players that may be able to pick up and drop off from the airports.
• Roads – Accessible from Central Belt (Perth) Via A9, A95 from Aviemore, and A941 from Craigellachie. Or East Coast A90 to Stonehaven & A96 from Aberdeen airport.
• Rail – Elgin Rail Station is situated close to the town centre and is a 5 minute walk to the venue and town centre.
Accommodation & Parking:
• There are many hotels and B&B in Elgin including a travel lodge on the outskirts.
• There are numerous carparks close and one directly outside the venue, there should be plenty of space available early mornings on both days, cost is £2. Majority are Pay and Display and use PayBy Phone app or cash.
