Hi everyone,We’re excited to officially open registration for Whiskers & Roux – Gumbo Cookoff & Kitten Shower, happening Sunday, March 22, 2026 at The Hangout Sports Pub in Youngsville.
This community event will bring together local teams, businesses, families, and supporters for great food, live music, adoptable kittens, and a whole lot of impact — all benefiting Because of Brucey and our work advancing community animal health across South Louisiana.
We are currently accepting:
• 🥘 Cookoff Teams (20 max – first come, first served)
• 🤝 Volunteers
• 💼 Event Sponsors
• 🎁 Silent Auction / Raffle Donations
Team entry is $100 with a minimum of 4 members per team.
Judging begins at 11:00 AM, and setup can begin as early as 6:00 AM.
The owner of The Hangout is also donating a percentage of sales from the event back to the organization, which makes this collaboration even more impactful for the community.
