About this Event
Restoration at Freshwater Farms Reserve and Felt Ranch
Want to improve slamonid habitat? Join the Watershed Stewards Program and Northcoast Regional Land Trust on Saturday, February 28th from 9am-2pm.
Volunteers will harvest willow from Freshwater Farms Reserve to create fascines (bundles) and then install them across the street at Felt Ranch. These willow fascines will help prevent erosion and protect crticial salmonid habitat. Additionally, a second group of volunteers will be planting 100 native plants at Freshwater Farms Reserve. This is a unique chance to help out with a masssive project along Wood Creek.
Please bring boots as the terrain is muddy, long sleeves and pants, a water bottle, sun-protection and snacks if you desire. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided the morning of the event. The event will cocnlude with a free raffle for all volunteers!
Volunteers will meet at the Freshwater Farms Reserve parking lot at 9am; carpooling is strongly reccomended as parking is limited. We have limited space, so please RSVP below (65 volunteers max).
