When The Owner Is DeadWe will review intestate succession and probate. Discuss commitment vesting issues arising from decedent’s in title, use of affidavits of heirship, the different types of probate, the probate process, procedures for sales in both dependent and independent administrations, and address specific issues that arise from decedent’s estates, including minors in title, estate taxes, involuntary liens against heirs, probate claims, and the Medicaid Estate Recovery Program. The course attempts to teach what the real estate agent needs to know in order to have an understanding of the process.
