In this Event:
If you’ve ever tried meditation and felt bored, restless, frustrated, or like you were doing it wrong, you’re not alone. For many adults, traditional meditation just doesn’t fit the way our minds and bodies actually work.
This interactive workshop offers a refreshing, playful approach to meditation; one that meets you where you are.
Led by a licensed mental health therapist, this session invites you to explore how meditation can look and feel different when we let go of rigid rules and expectations. Through simple, creative, and experiential activities, you’ll discover new ways to quiet your mind, build awareness, and feel more grounded without forcing stillness or silence.
In this workshop, you’ll:
- Redefine what meditation can be and let go of the idea that there’s only one “right” way
- Explore playful, accessible practices that support focus, calm, and emotional regulation
- Learn how to adapt meditation so it actually works for you and your nervous system
This is not about sitting perfectly still or clearing your mind. It’s about curiosity, movement, imagination, and finding moments of presence that feel natural and supportive.
No meditation experience required—just an open mind and a willingness to try something new.
About the Speaker:
TJ Matton is a social worker, psychotherapist, coach, and constructive misbehavior enthusiast helping adults liberate their mind and bodies through play. TJ’s business, The Playful Revolution, is focused on helping people understand the neuroscience of play and reconnect with the power and potential of play. Play is a primal need to the human body and is the neglected side of mindfulness. TJ helps people find enjoyment in the everyday, playful ways to manage stress, and empowering ways to greater fulfillment.
