Join us for this special evening commemorating the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 and a screening of the award-winning PBS Documentary AMERICAN SONS. Produced by Laura Varela & Produced / Directed by Andrew James Gonzales this event will feature a post screening discussion honoring the service and sacrfices that American families made after 9/11.
This community screening of American Sons at LOOK DINE-IN CINEMA in Arlington will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026. This event is FREE, but donations are highly encouraged. All fundraising efforts support our National Impact Tour, which aims to support veteran communities and families across the country.
AMERICAN SONS is a profoundly intimate documentary that traces the enduring scars of war through the story of Cpl. JV Villarreal, a Mexican-American Marine from Texas, who was killed in action in Afghanistan. Told through JV’s own raw, never-before-seen combat footage and the decade-long emotional journey of his Marine brothers and family, the film is both a tribute and a courageous exploration of grief, resilience, and love.
This evening will bring together veterans, military families, supporters, and community leaders for a powerful film and post-screening discussion. Whether you've already seen the film or are experiencing it for the first time, we hope you'll join us and invite others to be part of the conversation.
