About Propeller Dance:
Propeller Dance creates, performs and teaches contemporary inclusive dance that breaks down barriers. We uplift and empower people of diverse bodies and minds, while working towards a more equitable society through Disability Arts.
About the Class Series:
Join Propeller Dance for wheelchair-dancer led classes! The classes will be co-taught by Propeller Dance founding artists Moni Hoffman and Liz Winkelaar. These sessions are open to professional dancers, students, and community members of all abilities.
Together, we will explore how Propeller Dance’s inclusive dance methodology can open possibilities for movement between non-disabled dancers and dancers with disabilities. You’ll learn creative ways to move, work with others, and connect with dancers using mobility devices. These workshops focus on dance technique, creative possibilities, and how disability and dance can expand your dance vocabulary.
No experience is needed—just curiosity! Come learn, share, and celebrate the future of inclusive contemporary dance in a welcoming and supportive space. Join us!
For the ongoing health and safety of the community and immunocompromised individuals, we ask that you refrain from attending the classes if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, including but not limited to coughing, sneezing, nasal congestion, sore throat, or fever.
Access:
- The Arts Court building has three accessible entry-points, and accessible bathrooms throughout the building.
- Ottawa Dance Directive has physically accessible studios, and an accessible bathroom is close to the entrance of the space.

Image Description: This image shows four dancers performing on a dark stage. One dancer is in a wheelchair, supporting another dancer who is balanced horizontally across their lap. Two other dancers are positioned on either side, extending their arms outward, creating a sense of flow and connection. All dancers are dressed in earth-toned costumes, and their movements convey strength and unity.
