The Wheelchair Basketball Event will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Eastview Christian Church and promises a fast-paced, high-energy experience for the whole community. The game will feature elite athletes from the University of Illinois Wheelchair Basketball teams facing off against United States Veterans, representing LIFE CIL, in an exciting on-court matchup.Beyond the action on the court, attendees can enjoy a lively event atmosphere featuring a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, prize raffle, and concessions. This family-friendly event is a great opportunity to support disability awareness and inclusion, honor our veterans, and be part of an entertaining community experience.
Admission is $5 per person, with free admission for children ages 5 and under. Tickets will be sold in advance at LIFE CIL offices starting April 6, and will also be available for purchase at the door.
All proceeds from this event benefit the LIFE Center for Independent Living (LIFE CIL) and help provide two scholarships to the University of Illinois Youth Wheelchair Sports Camps.
