About Speaker Dr. Douglas Zuckermann
I am a board-certified invasive cardiologist.
I was drawn to medicine at a young age after hearing about medicine at the dinner table from my mom, who was a critical care nurse in New York City. I chose to pursue cardiology while completing my residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College, after discovering the integral role of the heart in good health and long life.
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008 and have committed myself to placing the patient in the center of all decision-making. I am dedicated to taking the time needed to fully explain potential health issues that a patient might be experiencing and the “why” behind any treatments, tests or procedures that might be recommended. It is important to become a partner with every patient to help navigate through a sometimes confusing or daunting medical journey.
I am proud to be a part of the integrated Kaiser Permanente system, with the goal to deliver nation-leading, exceptional cardiology care to every patient.
My clinical focus is Invasive Cardiology. I have expertise in the medical treatment of cardiac conditions like Coronary Artery Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmias (like Atrial Fibrillation), and heart valve diseases, among others. I also perform diagnostic coronary angiography (also called “cardiac catheterization”) and implant cardiac implanted electrical devices (like pacemakers).
