About this Event
What Were You Wearing Exhibit for Safe Hope Home
The “What Were You Wearing?” Exhibit is a powerful, survivor-centred art design to dismantle the harmful narrative that clothing contributes to ongoing sexual violence. Originating at the University of Arkansas in 2013, Jen Brockman and Dr. Mary Wyandt-Hiebert created the project. Through curated outfits, storytelling, and immersive design, the exhibit honours survivors and educates the public on the realities of sexual violence and human trafficking.
This year, Cassandra Harvey has collaborated with SafeHope Home and will host the exhibit as a large-scale, high-end fundraising event, blending art, advocacy, and community impact. All of the proceeds collected will directly contribute to Safe Hope Home.
Guests will experience a cocktail-style gala featuring curated displays, live music, a silent auction, and partnerships with local brands and organizations that support survivor empowerment. Our goal is to make this the signature event of the Spring season, raising crucial funds to support SafeHope Home's life-changing programs.
Guests will move through a series of mannequin models featuring clothing paired with survivor narratives – each displayed with intentionality, care, and trauma-informed design.
The goal is to create a space where attendees do more than observe. They reflect, engage, and become part of a movement for change.
