What We Hold On To | Opening Weekend

Join Black Cube Nomadic Art Museum for an opening weekend (September 5 + 6) in celebration of our second 10-year anniversary exhibition: What We Hold On To.

Friday, September 5 @ BCHQ

• Opening Reception, 6—9pm: Celebrate the start to What We Hold On To and the re-opening of BCHQ to the public! A number of exhibition artists will be in attendance.

Saturday, September 6 @ BCHQ

• Public Viewing Hours, 11am—4pm: Drop by any time within this window to view What We Hold On To.
• Artist Talks, 11:30am—12:30pm: Hear more from several artists featured in the exhibition. Check back here or on social media for the latest details!
• Artist Workshop with Kija Lucas, 1—4pm: Participate in Lucas's ongoing series . Bring an object of sentimental value to have it photographed by the artist and added to her running archive of meaningful items.

What We Hold On To is a group exhibition that explores the concept of storage—not just as a logistical process, but as an emotional, psychological, and cultural condition as well. Presented at Black Cube Headquarters (BCHQ) in a former industrial warehouse, this exhibition gathers local, national, and international artists whose works consider storage in an expanded sense: through trauma and memory, loss and tradition, hoarding and healing, preservation and release.
