About this Event

The Centre of Excellence in Child Trauma (COECT) is delighted to welcome foster parents living in Cardiff and the surrounding areas to our “What to Do When Nothing Works for Therapeutic Foster Parents” workshop.

Scheduled for 5th October 2026 at Village Hotel Cardiff, this workshop, led by Sarah Naish, CEO of COECT, a former foster parent and best-selling author, and Sarah Dillon, an author and therapeutic parenting consultant, will offer an insightful and supportive journey into therapeutic parenting.

Priced at only £10.00+VAT, the training is designed to provide parents with practical strategies and a deeper understanding of the challenges they face. The session will explore key topics such as managing challenging behaviours, encouraging emotional healing, and building resilience in children who have suffered trauma.

Both Sarah’s will utilise their extensive experience dealing with child trauma to guide participants through practical solutions, and they will share insights to enhance the parenting journey in foster care communities.

Sarah Naish said: "This workshop is a unique opportunity to address all your questions and concerns about therapeutic parenting. We're here to support you with not just answers, but also guidance, tailored to the real-world scenarios you encounter every day. It's not only about imparting knowledge; it's about providing you with practical, experience-based strategies. Whether you're facing daily challenges or seeking deeper connections with your children, this workshop is your stepping stone to transformative experiences."

So, come and join us and bring with you your stories, your struggles, and your aspirations. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of children in Cardiff and beyond, ensuring they receive the understanding, care, and affection they truly deserve.
