What Makes an Exhibition?

Schedule

Location

Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain | Luxembourg, LU

Before an exhibition takes shape, it begins with a series of decisions: an idea, a selection, a space, a timeline and a range of practical aspects. But how do these elements come together to create a compelling exhibition?

Following a guided visit to the ongoing exhibition The Hearth Room at Casino Luxembourg, this workshop explores the thinking and processes behind exhibition-making, from developing a concept and selecting works to spatial planning, logistics, budgets and timelines, as well as audience engagement and approaches to sustainability and inclusivity.

The workshop introduces the different stages and considerations involved in bringing an exhibition to life. Participants will then have the opportunity to experiment with these ideas themselves, translating a concept into a miniature exhibition through a hands-on model-making exercise.

Free tickets for students and Kulturpass holders; please email us at [email protected].
Fees apply for workshop participation, not for entering Casino Luxembourg, which is free.
