What Lurks Beneath
Schedule
Fri Aug 22 2025 at 02:30 pm to 03:30 pm
UTC-05:00Location
202 S Palmetto St, Rockport, TX, United States, Texas 78382 | Rockport, TX
We'll use a seine net to sample and check on the health of St. Charles Bay, and work to identify the critters we bring in! If you would like the chance to help a ranger with sampling, participants MUST where close-toed shoes (no Crocs). Our samples from the bay will then go into touch tanks so we can all take a closer look, and we'll use iNaturalist to help us identify them!
Where: Meet at Day Use.
Bring: Close-toed shoes, bug spray, sun protection (hat, long sleeve shirt, sunblock), drinking water, and a towel to dry off.
Accessibility: This program starts at an accessible picnic table. After a short discussion, we'll move to the back of the Day Use area crossing a grassy area. For accessibility questions, email Ranger Sara: [email protected].
