On February 4, 2026, the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario (SCAGO) will host a special Black History Month blood donation event in downtown Toronto.
Focused on welcoming new African, Caribbean, and Black donors to Canada’s Lifeline, the event is part of broader, community-led recruitment efforts to build awareness about the important link between blood donation and sickle cell disease, helping to ensure patients from all backgrounds and communities have access to the blood products they need.
This event is being held in honour of Reshaun Ronald Gabriel, a cherished member of the sickle cell community.
