What Is Your Business Really Worth?
About this Event
Presented By
AND Capital Projects (ANDCP) as part of Building Financial Futures 2026, in partnership with Birmingham City Council and the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS).
Event Description
You know what your business earns. But do you know what your business is actually worth?
For many owners, the business is one of their most valuable assets - yet its value may only become a serious consideration when they want to raise investment, bring in a partner, sell or eventually exit.
This practical workshop explores what can influence the value of a business and why two companies with similar revenues or profits can have very different valuations.
You’ll explore:
- What determines the value of a business
- The difference between revenue, profit and business value
- What buyers and investors may look for
- Factors that can increase or reduce valuation
- How dependence on the owner can affect value
- Why recurring and predictable revenues can matter
- The importance of financial information, systems and business structure
- Why owners should think about value long before they intend to sell
This session is designed to help business owners look at their company through a different lens: not simply as a source of income, but as an asset they are building.
This workshop forms part of Building Financial Futures 2026, a full-day event bringing together individuals, families, business owners, financial professionals and community organisations to explore financial resilience, wealth, careers, property, business ownership and long-term financial planning.
Your registration for this workshop also gives you access to the wider Building Financial Futures event and its programme of keynotes, workshops, marketplace activity and networking.
