St. Bartholomew’s Church invites you to an evening of learning, reflection, and conversation as we welcome The Rev. Deacon Tania Wilkes for an introduction to Black Theology and a discussion of why it matters for the whole Church. Drawing on Scripture, history, and lived experience, Black Theology helps the Church better understand God’s work of liberation, justice, and reconciliation, and calls us to see how faith is enriched through diverse cultural expressions.Deacon Wilkes serves on the Diocesan Race and Reconciliation Commission and is a deacon at St. Catherine’s Church in Temple Terrace. Her leadership and insight will guide us in exploring how the Spirit moves through different cultures to bring forth the same holiness, for the glory of God.
Dinner will be served from 6:00–6:30 PM by the church, followed by the program and discussion from 6:30–7:30 PM. All are welcome, and no prior knowledge is required.
