13. Mars, kl 16:30 í Norræna húsinu
Öll velkomnin, sérstaklega sýningarstjórar, safnstjórar, listafólk og allt menningarstarfsfólk.

What is a sýningarstjóri?
Why are there so few formal curatorial positions in Iceland?
How can we drive the curatorial forward here?
How can the conditions for developing curatorial practices be better?
Building on our recent article, What even is a sýningarstjóri?, we (KoK) invite you to an open conversation on curatorial practice, precarity, institutional structures, and the future of the field in Iceland.
Curating extends beyond exhibition-making. It involves research, attention, care, mediation, long-term thinking, and advocacy for the arts. If we want a strong and sustainable art ecosystem, we need to discuss the conditions that make this work possible.
Everyone is welcome, and we especially hope to bring curators, museum directors, art professionals, and cultural workers into the same room.
Join us to listen, share, question, and reflect together as we open a thoughtful and necessary conversation about the future of curatorial practice in Iceland. We hope you’ll add your voice and help shape this ongoing dialogue.
Warmly,
KOK (Becky, Helena, and Tinna)
