Step into the fascinating world of social media influencers with this interactive event led by Professor Qihai Huang and Dr Nam Mai.

Social media influencers shape trends, drive purchasing decisions, and fuel a multi‑billion‑pound digital economy, yet what determines their success remains surprisingly misunderstood.

This workshop reveals new findings from a University of Huddersfield research project exploring the behaviours, motivations, and performance drivers of influencers. Drawing on both qualitative interviews and large-scale data analysis, we unpack:
• What motivates influencers to stay active and engaged

• Which factors most strongly predict follower growth and performance

• How positive and negative feedback loops shape their behaviour and outcomes
