Join Birmingham Poet Laureate and interdisciplinary artist Salaam Green for an immersive art and literary experience inspired by "Roll Call: Two Hundred Years of Black American Art." Through guided discussion, poetry, and creative writing, participants will explore themes of history, memory, and collective expression. The session begins with an introduction to the exhibition and a guided tour of selected works before transitioning into reflective writing prompts and shared conversation. The program concludes with the collaborative creation of a collective poem inspired by the exhibition, inviting participants to contribute their voices to a shared reflection on freedom, community, and belonging.
Please note that this event will be held in the "Roll Call" exhibition, therefore the registration fee also provides entry into the exhibition.
