Meet Pete Fry: Dublin-born, Vancouver city councillor and now running for Mayor. This event is an opportunity for the Irish community to show our support for Pete and for the undecided Irish community members to learn more about the only Irish-born candidate in the race. Irish and Irish at heart are all welcome to show our support for Pete!
What could be more Irish than a Fry?
At 2 years old, Pete Fry was already sitting at the counter in a Dublin pub - not much has changed since. Join us for a fun, informal mixer to meet and learn more about about Pete.
As a city councillor for the last eight years, Pete has spent years working hard for our neighbourhoods, championing local issues and showing up for the community. Pete has been a regular at Irish community events for the last 8 years and has always been a friend to the Irish community. He showed up for the Irish community to help get hurling played in Vancouver parks when it was considered dangerous by the city. For the last 3 years Pete has been the main opposition as a city councillor and has a clear vision how the City of Vancouver can be run better for everyone. Come raise a glass at The Irish Heather, hear a cupla focal from Pete and special guest speakers from the Irish community. It will be a fantastic evening where you can find out how you can get involved - whether that's voting, volunteering your time, chipping in a donation, or just showing up to say hello. Expect good fun, good company, and a genuine chance to connect with the campaign!
