Come experience a FREE walking tour of downtown Raleigh's Civil Rights and protest history! Presented by the North Carolina State Capitol.
About this Event

"We’ve Always Been Out There" is a free walking tour of downtown Raleigh on the history of civil rights and protest movements in Raleigh, presented by the North Carolina State Capitol! The tour will cover most of the 20th century and include discussion of the Temperance Movement, the Women’s Suffrage Movement, the Civil Rights Movement of the 60s and 70s, and many other topics!


The tour is approximately 0.5 miles of walking with a short stop at the City of Raleigh museum, so please bring a bottle of water and wear weather-appropriate clothing. Tours will be every Friday in February, beginning at 11AM. Tours will meet in front of the three presidents statue on the eastern side of Capitol Square and will last between 45 minutes to an hour. The nearest public parking is on Jones Street, behind the North Carolina Museum of History.
