Wet Felted Slippers Workshop
You’ll learn how to:
Create a resist pattern for a perfect fit
Layer wool for strength and structure
Use water, soap, and agitation to felt your slippers
Shape and finish your slippers for a professional look
We’ll be working with soft merino wool fibers in a range of beautiful colors, making slippers that are warm, breathable, and perfect for cozy indoor wear.
This is a beginner-friendly class, no experience needed. Be prepared to get a little wet and use your hands!
Wet felting is a physical process that involves rolling, rubbing, and standing for periods of time, so come ready to move and work with your hands. We’ll take a break midday to rest and enjoy lunch - bring your own lunch or take a break away.
You’ll leave with a finished pair of soft wool slippers. These slippers are designed for indoor use and do not include leather or rubber soles. All materials included.
----Want to take your slippers further? Future and more advanced workshops will explore working with coarser, more durable wools such as Corriedale, Bergschaf, and Romney, as well as techniques for adding leather soles and embellishing your slippers with needle felting, crochet, and knitting. Be sure to ask your instructor to add you to the list to be notified of more advanced shoe felting workhops.----
