Western WA SPJ Excellence Awards
About this Event
The Western WA SPJ Excellence Awards is an in-person celebration for journalists, students, freelancers, aspiring and previous winners, new residents, and fans of exceptional journalism.
Join us Sunday evening, Oct. 25, at Converge Media, 817 First Ave., Seattle, to celebrate and distribute trophies and certificates to the . Cocktails and conversation, with light refrshments, begin at 6:30 p.m. PT; the ceremony starts at 7 p.m. PT; we should wrap easily by 9.
Our chapter helps to organize the five-state Region 10 contest with Oregon. This gathering, however, largely recognizes Washington winners in writing, audio, video, photo and design, magazines, and at-large categories. It's especially appreciated for trophy winners to appear in person, as it saves on shipping. It’s also more fun than the Sunday Night Seahawks-Chiefs game at Lumen Field (that's a head's up on competitive parking that night...)
Register now so our host, Seattle Gay News, powered by board member Renee Rakkety, can make accurate plans. Please share this invitation widely.
