ACM students are invited to the attend the Western Maryland "Make a Difference" Youth Summit, from 9am to 1pm, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Held at ACM and in partnership with Allegany County Public Schools, it is to celebrate community service in Allegany and surrounding counties. The event is being sponsored by the MD Civic Education Coalition with focus on their goal of promoting “inclusive coalitions that bring together students, educators, experts, scholars, and community members who are committed to ensuring that all Maryland students have access to meaningful, hands-on, comprehensive civic education and service-learning opportunities.
Any student, group of students, and/or organizations, who would like to highlight their amazing service to the community, are encouraged to participate in photo and poster contests to share information about volunteer opportunities. High school students will have the opportunity to tour Allegany College of Maryland’s campus and to learn more about what courses, programs, and services are offered, as well as an opportunity to engage in team building activities. More than 20 community partners will attend to promote their volunteer opportunities with the participants and our college community.
In the event of a snow day, the event will be rescheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
