You are warmly invited to attend the inaugural West Yorkshire-Pakistan Trade, Investment and Innovation Summit, organised by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and British Friends of Pakistan, in partnership with the University of Bradford and the Textile Centre of Excellence.
The summit will bring together a carefully selected group of senior representatives from government, business, investment, universities, research institutions, Chambers of Commerce and trade organisations from West Yorkshire, the wider UK and Pakistan, with a particular focus on textiles and food and drink as the sectors where both regions share their greatest strengths.
Building on West Yorkshire’s longstanding business, civic, community and institutional links with Pakistan, the summit will explore how these relationships can be translated into practical opportunities for trade, investment, research, innovation, education and skills, while laying the foundations for a longer-term programme of engagement.
Strategic Themes
Reflecting the summit’s four themes of trade and investment, innovation and research, education and skills, and people and institutions, the programme will include:
- Leaders’ plenary with senior UK and Pakistani representatives;
- trade, investment and sector discussions covering manufacturing, supply chains, innovation and market access;
- textile and food and drink showcases and focused roundtables;
- structured networking and executive pre-booked one-to-one meetings;
- discussion of university, research and skills partnerships;
- closing Leaders’ session focused on strategic partnerships, investment and future collaboration
The summit is intended to generate practical connections, including new commercial partnerships, export and investment opportunities, distribution and supply-chain relationships, and university, research and skills collaborations.
Executive Participation
Participation is reserved for approximately 100 carefully selected senior decision-makers from government, multinational corporations, investment institutions, industry, academia and strategic partner organisations.
Places are reserved exclusively for executive-level leaders responsible for investment, international trade, manufacturing, innovation and strategic partnerships, ensuring meaningful dialogue, high-value networking and direct engagement between organisations with the capacity to shape future UK–Pakistan economic cooperation.
This highly curated format is designed to maximise strategic introductions, facilitate high-level discussions and accelerate new partnerships between the United Kingdom and Pakistan.
