West Yorkshire Police Senior Leadership Forum

The SLF event is designed to embed a deeper understanding of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) across West Yorkshire Police senior leaders and to recognise its value in enhancing professional competence and organisational performance. By connecting CPD to personal growth and operational excellence, the event aims to create a culture where learning is continuous, collaborative, and aligned to the evolving needs of our communities. This approach reinforces the principle that professional development is not a one-off activity but an ongoing commitment to improvement and adaptability.

The morning session will feature expert speakers delivering insights on financial wellbeing from Police Mutual and cultural awareness presentations from members of the Jewish and Chinese communities. These sessions aim to broaden understanding and strengthen inclusive leadership across West Yorkshire Police.

In the afternoon, the College of Policing CPD Lead will facilitate interactive sessions that build on the morning’s inputs. This will explore the principles and practical application of continuous professional development (CPD), encouraging collaboration, reflection, and shared learning. The focus will be on how CPD can drive personal growth and organisational improvement, ensuring leaders are equipped to embed a culture of continuous learning and adaptability.
