Back by popular demand! Our FIRST EVER Native Plant Swap was so popular, we are doing it again! Rain Date April 26AND we are combining the swap with a Nature Tenders event to care for the young trees we planted.
• We hope to have baby native trees/plants to give away!
If you want to participate in the plant swap, please bring with you any extra native plants you may have
If you don't have any plants to share, come anyway! We hope you will be so successful with the plants you receive, you will have plenty of plants to share in the future.
• If you are bringing plants, it would be wonderful if you could bring a little sign with the name of each plant and the conditions it prefers (sunny, shade, dry, wet, etc.).
• Feel free to go all out and list the creatures your plant benefits (you can look this up on wildflower.org and https://nativeplantfinder.nwf.org/Search) and any other interesting information.
If you are dividing your plants this spring or if you have volunteer plants you don’t need, bring them to swap with your neighbors!
It is not necessary to bring a plant, but if you bring a little, take a little. If you bring a lot, take a lot. If you are new to native gardening, please come and take plants and chat with us! We hope you will be so successful at growing them, that in the next year or two, you will have plants to share!
Each person who brings plants will get a spot on the grass to display their plants. They don’t need to stay the whole time, but it would be nice if they did so they can teach people about their plants. We are all short on time, so don’t worry if you can’t stay.
After you drop off and pick up plants, wander over to our tree planting area and help us care for the young trees there. It's best to wear long sleeves, pants, closed toed shoes and socks, and gloves. Bring pruners or loppers if you have them. We will have extra on hand if you don't.
RSVP by choosing "going" so you will be informed of any changes AND find out what trees/shrubs we will be giving away.
