About this Event
Welcome to the West Riding Ensemble Official Launch Concert!
Sheffield's newest chamber ensemble brings together today's and tomorrow's professionals in a performance of Shostakovich Piano Quintet op. 57 and Tchaikovsky's Souvenir de Florence op. 70.

The West Riding Ensemble was formed in May 2024 by performer-scholar David Milsom, in response to his twin-desire to perform chamber music with his colleagues and friends, and also to build in innovative and immersice opportunities for gifted students - tomorrow's professionals. The group has two main purposes: to perform chamber music to the highest possible standards integrating students and professionals, and to provide a flexible ensemble for organisations (such as choirs): this flag-bearing event is the first of the 2024-2025 season and is thus our official launch event!
