🎉 WCS Sheffield turns one! 🎉
A year ago we started running monthly workshops in Sheffield, and we're marking the occasion with a full day of West Coast Swing led by special guests Natasha and Andy Holmes. Thank you to everyone who has danced with us this year. Come and celebrate with us!

✨ About Natasha & Andy
This Leeds-based couple met on the WCS floor in 2019 and now dance, teach and compete together. Natasha brings over 35 years of dance experience, from ballet to tango and salsa, and teaches with Swing Renegades and Salsa Rocks. Andy has taught salsa since 2018 and has been dancing West Coast since 2019.
✨ What to expect
An afternoon of three focused sessions on changing the dynamics of your dancing, then a relaxed evening social to put it all into practice. You'll leave with proper tools to level up your dancing, and have a great time doing it.
🕺 Workshop Schedule
1:15 – 1:30 pm | Doors Open & Welcome
Arrive, settle in and meet your fellow dancers.
1:30 – 2:30 pm | Creativity Through Connection Changes
Take the basics you already know and transform them with small changes in connection. Explore how shifting connection points and levels of tension creates new shapes, textures and options, without any new patterns. Expect plenty of partner rotation and time to play.
2:40 – 3:40 pm | Creativity Through Stop/Go Movements
Use stops, pauses and sudden starts to add contrast and musicality. Leaders will learn to create and signal moments of stillness, followers to respond and play within them, and both to use these moments to match the music.
3:50 – 4:50 pm | Introduction to Rides
Rides are rotational moves where partners travel around a shared centre, using momentum and connection together. We'll break down the footwork, frame and timing step by step, giving you a solid, safe foundation to take onto the social floor.
💃 Evening Social | 7:00 – 11:00 pm
Our anniversary party! Four hours of great music and social dancing. Try out your new skills, share a dance with our guest teachers, and catch up with friends old and new. All levels welcome, whether or not you came to the workshop.
