We are very lucky to be able to bring back Steve Hunt for ‘Musicality’ inspired workshops.
Come and join us for 2 musicality workshops to bring to your WCS style and personality.
Steve has been an event director, head judge, competitor and dancer of West Coast Swing for over 17 years now. Steve’s competition highlight was winning the 2015 UK & European WCS jack and Jill champion (Jack and Jill is the improv category of WCS) He is also the head judge at numerous high level European WCS events including Warsaw Halloween Swing, Westie Gala, Baltic Swing and recently Bristol Swing Fiesta.

18.00 -18.45 Workshop 1 – Musicality made fun!
Suitable for all levels.
Get an understanding of the building blocks for dancing to all WCS music, learn a fun line dance that helps identify phrase changes and accents within music, learn the art of musical matching that will take your partnering skills to the next level.
19.00-20.00 Workshop 2 – Advanced Musicality
Suitable for more experienced dancers comfortable with all the fundamental moves and been dancing west coast swing for at least 6 months.
Building on the first class, This workshop offers an insight into the subtlety and techniques of footwork variations highlighting rhythm changes with cool syncopations and also learning some fun concepts and techniques for followers to be musical without hijacking or disrupting your leader.
19.00-20.00 Workshop 2 in a separate room
Suitable for new dancers a recap of fundamental moves, fine tuning (sugar push, left and right side pass, tuck turn and whip)
COMPLIMENTARY CHEESE, MEAT AND FRUIT BUFFET
20:00 - 23:45 HYRBID freestyle with DJ Paul Abbott
Freestyle follows immediately after the workshop to give you social dance space to practise what you have learnt.
