The West Coast Jazz Hour residency at The G is proud to present the Mannerisms Quintet.
This band is led by drummer Kevin van den Elzen and celebrates the music of one of his biggest influences, Shelly Manne.
Shelly was one of the most in demand jazz and studio drummers in 50's, 60's and 70's. He made over 50 albums as a leader.
He influenced the development of the drums by exploring different sounds on the drums and mixing that with bebop language.
He also owned one of the most famous jazz clubs in the 60's called the Manne Hole.
The quintet features Barclay Moffitt (tenor sax), Yakiv Tsvietinskyi (trumpet), Jeremy Siskind (piano) and Jonathan Richards (double bass).
