West Chester Lodge No. 322 F. & A. M. is pleased to announce a Football Squares Pool to add a little friendly competition to the season. A total of 100 squares will be sold at $25 per square, with all proceeds pooled together. Prizes will be awarded at key points in the game as follows: 5% ($125) of the total pool at the end of the first quarter, 10% at halftime ($250), 5% ($125) at the end of the third quarter, and 25% ($625) at the end of the 4th quarter. An added 5% ($125) will be awarded to the spot that matches the jersey number of the player who scores first (touchdown, field goal etc...).
This pool is intended for fun and fellowship, and participation helps support the Lodge while enjoying the excitement of the game.
Rules:
A football squares pool works by creating a 10×10 grid containing 100 squares, each of which can be purchased by a participant. After all squares are sold (or sales close), the numbers 0 through 9 are randomly assigned to both the home team and the visiting team across the top and side of the grid. At designated points in the game—such as the end of the first quarter, halftime, the end of the third quarter, and the final score—the last digit of each team’s score is used to determine a winner. The participant whose square matches those two digits wins the prize for that period. This format keeps the game simple, fair, and engaging throughout the entire game, regardless of football knowledge.
If a winning score corresponds to an unsold square, the prize for that quarter is carried forward and added to the next prize payout. If the final score lands on an unsold square, that prize will be donated to a Masonic Charity. The remaining 50% will be donated to West Chester Lodge No. 322 F. and A. M. for lodge fraternal activities.
Prize dollar amounts identified above in parenthesis assume all spots are sold. If all spots are not sold, prizes will be reduced accordingly.
