Fredrick Kpakpo Addo is a well-known Ghanaian Master dancer, drummer, multi-instrumentalist and choreographer based in Victoria with over 25 years experience in drumming and dance. He is a Peace Ambassador that promotes peace through tradition. By popular demand, Fred is back in Dunedin for one night only to share some new moves and grooves before you party with his band One Spirit Africa later on in the evening! (See the separate event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1108281610509969).
In Fred's drum and dance workshop you will experience a demonstration of how drumming and dance can contribute to our joy. Rhythms taught originate from the many West Africa ethnic groups especially Ghana, with a blend of ancient and traditional grooves that are part of everyday ceremony, and customs across Ghana. This workshop is suitable for anyone with a keen attitude to learn!
Cost:
$25 - Drumming
$25 - Dance workshop
$40 for both
Spaces are limited. Please message Catherine via the Dancers Anonymous Facebook page or email [email protected] to book your spot!
