WENDY WONDER was born in the 60s in NYC when Sheryl Berk was on the “fringe” of the Andy Warhol group.
She worked for Peter Max and dressed Janice Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and many legends of the time at the famous West Village tie-dye boutique, FUR BALLOONS.
In the 70s, she moved to L.A., where she was a P.A. for Ralph Bakshi on the X-rated animated film Fritz the Cat.
WENDY was an advertising executive for Town & Country magazine, Architectural Digest, Andy Warhol’s Interview, W, and Angeleno. Later she helped start up Genre and Instinct, gay men’s lifestyle magazines.
Throughout her career, she has shown privately in venues in Chicago, Los Angeles (La Cienega, Melrose, Santa Monica), and Venice, Bel Air, and Malibu. Her work spans clothing, neon, gold, silver, and diamond jewelry, furniture, sculpture, fabric design, and collage.
In 2000, Wendy became a costume designer, dressing TV shows, and joined Union 705. Her first show was the premiere season of American Idol, and the list after that is long.
Her art show at S.C.R.A.P. Gallery features her social-political satire decoupage on world-famous brand upscale used bags.
