About this Event
This is an opportunity to connect with the rhythm of our own embodiment, as well as the ancient and primal rhythms of the Universe.
Gather in community and experience the transformative and healing power of the drums. Connection with one's self and others in community is the medicine of the drum. It is an invitation to toss aside our maps of the world, let go of expectations, and enjoy the power of presence as we drop our shoulders, breathe, and release the energies that will no longer serve us as we move into 2025.
Drums, shakers, and various handheld instruments will be provided.
What to Bring:
- Comfortable clothing for movement
- An open heart & curious anticipation
About David Hickman:
David is a Certified Music Medicine and Meditation Facilitator, spiritual guide, and seeker. He brings 30+ years of experience providing healing circles for various healthcare and wellness centers.
"My passion is sitting with other humans in a safe healing circle, connecting with our deeper or higher selves. I love to incorporate music, drumming, poetry, silence, movement, and stillness into a practice of presence. In honor of the Four Directions as soul medicine, I will guide us into a presentation of offerings of incense, sage, and cedar. As we sit together and share our human experience, may you experience a deep sense of belonging. Circles are a sacred space to plant seeds and manifest the life we desire. It is a safe place to trust the process: the practice of giving and receiving love."

What is "sliding scale" ticketing?
Compound's values include Belonging, Community, Compassion, and Equity, and sliding scale is a form of mutual aid that offers different price options for the same service for guests to select based on their economic needs.
We ask that you consider the price that best suits your needs, and below is a guide to help you decide which ticket to select (borrowed from this resource by Worts and Cunning).
$22: If you struggle to maintain access to needs such as health care, housing, food, child care, and are living paycheck to paycheck or are in significant debt, you belong here and you deserve a community that honors your price as equal an economic offering as the person who can pay the highest tier.
$28: If you are struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck to paycheck living but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc., you belong here.
$35 (suggested): If you have access to financial security, own property or have personal savings, you would not traditionally qualify for sliding scale services. If you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, you have economic breathwork and power in our community. This price is for you, and reflects the true cost of the program.
Please note that the total ticket price includes the EventBrite service fee.
