Celebrate the theatrical wrap-up of the season, The Wellington Theatre Awards, Ngā Whakarākei O Whātaitai 2024, at the Wellington Opera House.
From reimagined classical texts to politically charged reflections on Aotearoa, New Zealand, the Wellington Theatre Awards recognise the innovation, creativity and excellence of our live theatre sector and the hundreds of shows produced and performed in Te Whanganui a Tara over the last year. Indulge in art, connect, reminisce, and laugh the night away at this special evening honouring the writers, designers, actors, directors, technicians and audiences that make theatre in this city possible.
Taking place on Sunday 8th December in the grand and glamorous location of the Wellington Opera House, join us on this haerenga beneath the stars, and be dazzled one sequin at a time with your hosts for this year, the Takatāpui Drag Super-Group: The Tiwhas - Dame Jthan, Pania, Slay West and Tina Coco Couture, alongside Kree Matthews, Hayden Taylor and Tom Knowles.
