Wellbeing workshop: Managing stress and worry

Community Corner is a service run by the NHS aiming to combat social isolation and help people to live well in their communities. Every Thursday at Violet Melchett we run activities to promote health and wellbeing.

This week we welcome psychological wellbeing practitioners from Community Living Well to run a workshop about managing stress and worry. There will also be hot drinks and refreshments!

Stress is our body’s response to a challenging or threatening situation. Sometimes stress can be useful, but when we feel too stressed over a long period of time, this can be detrimental to our health and emotions. In this workshop we learn:

· Techniques to manage stress and worry

· What happens in our body when we feel stressed and how to manage the physiological response using relaxation techniques

Please note we require attendees to complete a short form prior to starting the workshop, consisting of basic personal information and assessing mood. This information is confidential and is not shared with any external parties. We can also provide this form in other languages if we are aware before the session.
