About this Event
Community Corner is a service run by the NHS aiming to combat social isolation and help people to live well in their communities. Every Thursday at Violet Melchett we run activities to promote health and wellbeing.
Compassion can be defined as… “a basic kindness, with a deep awareness of the suffering of oneself and of other living things, coupled with the wish and effort to relieve it”. This workshop aims to give a better understanding on the importance of self-compassion and techniques to achieve them. It focusses on:
- Why self-compassion is important
- Why it is difficult to show ourselves self-compassion
- Techniques we can use to demonstrate self-compassion
Please note we require attendees to complete a short form prior to starting the workshop, consisting of basic personal information and assessing mood. This information is confidential and is not shared with any external parties. We can also provide this form in other languages if we are aware before the session.
Community Living Well is a community mental health service for Kensington & Chelsea, Queen’s Park and Paddington. To find out more visit https://communitylivingwell.co.uk/
