Wellbeing in the wild

Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity will offer a weekly sessions to promote wellbeing among parents in the peri-natal period – during pregnancy and the first year of baby’s life.

The group will support the wellbeing of parents and parents-to-be by offering group nature-based activities that encompass the Five Ways to Wellbeing – Connection, Be Active, Learn, Take Notice and Give Back.

The activities will be weather-dependant and seasonal, and will include the use of the indoor space and garden for natural mindfulness, growing, arts and craft activities.

Parents who join us will have the chance to:

• Meet and get to know others
• Enjoy mindful and calming nature-based activities or invitations
• Create a group nature journal to bring together the group’s experience of the garden and activities over the sessions
• Access local social prescribing and other support where needed
• Find out about use of local greenspaces in the area to keep active
