Well Rested Women: Yoga, Somatics, and Shadow work of Rest
Join us at Green Spaces: Co-working and Marketplace for Well Rested Women: Somatic Shadow Work for Rest, where we’ll gather to explore the sacredness of rest and its deep connection to healing and social change. Each attendee will receive a gifted copy of Rest Is Sacred by Octavia Raheem to support their journey into rest and renewal, included with the ticket.
This 90-minute session will guide you through gentle yoga, somatic movement, and shadow work exercises that encourage deeper relaxation and awareness. We’ll explore how our bodies hold tension and resistance to rest, uncovering any hidden layers that may be preventing us from fully surrendering to relaxation and self-care.
Together, we’ll journey through:
- Opening Community Circle and Grounding – Begin in a supportive circle to connect and set a shared intention for our time together.
- Somatic Movement, Breathwork, and Yoga Asana – Engage in mindful movement and breath practices to bring awareness to the present moment, identify areas of tension, and release physical and emotional holding patterns.
- Exploration of Boundaries and Resistance – Delve into our relationship with rest, observing where resistance or discomfort may arise and gently exploring the deeper layers beneath.
- Deep Release and Surrender – Embrace restorative poses and affirmations that foster trust, self-acceptance, and the power of letting go.
- Journaling and Reflection – Conclude with personal reflections and intention setting to help integrate insights and welcome rest as a transformative practice.
This flow invites each participant to explore, release, and rest within a nurturing community space.
This community class has 29 spots available in honor of Soraya's 29th birthday. This evening will be a powerful space to connect, release, and celebrate rest as a radical act of self-love.
What to bring: Yoga mat, journal, writing tool, water bottle. Any props or tools that support your body and movement practice.
