Welcome Walk

Celebrate the opening of the long-awaited Close the Gap section of the Eastern Trail with a special Interim Welcome Walk led by Eastern Trail Alliance Executive Director Eliza Alexander. This free community walk is a chance to experience the newest section of the trail, connect with fellow trail enthusiasts, and learn more about the Eastern Trail and the exciting future ahead.

Whether you're a longtime supporter or visiting the trail for the first time, we invite you to lace up your sneakers and join us as we celebrate this significant milestone together.

What to Expect

This program begins at the Wainwright Field Complex (parking available) for the Close the Gap celebration. (See map below for parking and meeting location.)

The new section of the Eastern Trail is 1.6 miles. You are welcome to take the entire out-and-back walk, for a total of 3.2 miles or alternatively, join us for a portion of the walk.

We'll enjoy an easy, guided walk at a relaxed pace, with plenty of opportunities to take in the scenery, ask questions, and celebrate this exciting addition to the Eastern Trail.

Please leave your pets at home for this program.
