The audiobook edition of Welcome to Eureka Springs: The I-Sh*t-You-Not History of America's Quirkiest Town launches with a celebration at the Gravel Bar at Wanderoo Lodge (216 West Van Buren).
The audiobook was an incredibly fun project that took more than a year to record. A different Eureka Springs area resident narrates each of the 60 short chapters.
From 3-5PM Sunday, August 30, author Jude Gaillot will play the audiobook chapters about the city's 1922 bank robbery and shootout (narrated by David Abrams), Norman Baker's infamous sham cancer hospital (narrated by Coltan Scrivner), Willie Nelson's favorite pot dealer (narrated by Wendy Taylor Carlisle), and the city's first public Pride event (narrated by Ethan Avanzino).
Jude will also sign copies of the print edition, and tell the stories behind the stories: research surprises, details cut from the book for space reasons, and more.
