Help the Stuart Tank Memorial Association Commemorate the return home of a VERY RARE Military vehicle - an M37 Howitzer Motor Carriage! We have fundraised and now purchased 1 of only 150 of these vehicles ever produced! Based on our research, only 150 M37 Howitzer Motor Carriages were built and all of them were made at American Car & Foundry Company's Berwick, Pennsylvania factory between September and October of 1945. The M37 was designed as a replacement for the earlier M7 Howitzer Motor Carriage, otherwise known as the "Priest".
Our newest acquisition will be on public display on a trailer for the first time at the intersection of North Vine St. and West 3rd St. in Berwick, PA on April 18th, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, just down the street from the STMA Museum. There will be a short parade at 11:00 AM from the BIDA Complex entrance to the display spot, led by our own restored M3A1 Light Tank, "Lady Lois". The M37 Howitzer Motor Carriage is not currently in running condition and will remain on the trailer but appears very complete in terms of parts. This vehicle was previously part of the now closed American Armor Foundation (AAF) Tank Museum Collection in Danville, Virginia.
The Stuart Tank Memorial Association Museum will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on April 18th. FREE Light refreshments and guided tours will be available for guests at the Museum. Admission to the Museum is always FREE.
We will also commemorate the Anniversary of the date of production of the last "Stuart" Light Tank built at AC&F Berwick on April 17th, 1944 during this event.
Please call 570-350-9675 or visit BerwickStuartTank.org for more information on this event.
