The city of Mason is honoring Vietnam Veterans with a Welcome Home parade and ceremony on Saturday April 5th. The city is seeking 50-60 Wrangler style Jeeps (Willies to JT) to transport the Veterans on a short parade from the Mason Elementary to the Mason City building. After arrival, everyone will enter the main lobby of the city building for a brief ceremony remembering the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. At the conclusion of the ceremonies, the Veterans will be transported through downtown Mason to area businesses who have gifts or special honors for the Veterans. (Veterans have the option to return to their cars or go downtown. It will be case by case.) Jeeps need to arrive starting at 830am. 915am-945am we begin loading and the parade starts at 10am. The parade itself, is very short The ceremony inside the city building will last from 1030-1130am.
