Join us for a heartfelt celebration at Republic Grand Ranch as we honor a deserving veteran and unveil the new custom-built, fully accessible home built by Design Tech Homes.

Directions: From Houston/The Woodlands: Take I-45 North to 1097; go East; Turn Right on Republic Ranch Road S and follow the Helping a Hero Event signs.

Following the Welcome Home Ceremony, join us at the lake for a celebration.

Honoring SPC Zach Parker, USA (Ret): A Hero’s Journey Home

Zach served as a medic in Afghanistan, where he sustained life-altering injuries from a deeply buried IED. He lost his left arm, his right leg at the hip, and his left leg above the knee—making him one of the few triple amputees in the country. Despite these unimaginable challenges, Zach’s resilience and spirit remain unshaken.

While recovering at Fort Sam Houston, Zach met Misty, a fellow Army NCO. Their shared love for the outdoors sparked a remarkable love story rooted in strength, healing, and purpose. Together with their two young sons, they dreamed of a life surrounded by nature and freedom.

Thanks to the generosity of Patten Properties and Republic Grand Ranch, who donated a beautiful 2-acre homesite backed by five acres of greenspace, and the support of Helping a Hero and Design Tech Homes, that dream is becoming a reality. Their new home will be fully accessible, allowing Zach to thrive as a husband and father—embracing life on his terms.

This event honors not only Zach’s service and sacrifice, but the incredible community effort to support our heroes. The Parker family will now have access to miles of hiking trails, a stocked fishing lake, and archery—all right in their backyard at Republic Grand Ranch.
