Whanganui friends, please join us for a new season of Potting up Parties in our Native Plant Nursery at the Learning Environment. All welcome to join in this relaxing, feel good activity. Come along to learn, try something new and have fun. Get your hands in the soil and enjoy a conversation across the potting table.We'll be pricking out and potting up native seedlings all morning, join in for as long or short as you like. We start with a karakia [blessing] at 9.30am, work until 12.15pm ish, then share a kaputī [a cuppa] together. Coffee, tea and some kai [food] provided. If you have abundance to share, contributions to the kai table are welcome too. All done by 1pm.
What to bring: weather appropriate gear, water bottle, your mates, your whānau, keen potting-up energy, clothes you don’t mind getting a bit soily, sturdy footware.
Potting up is not only a joyous experience, you'll also be supporting us in a crucial stage of growing trees, which support regional regenerating of our sacred local wai [waterways], precious native ngāhere [forests], creatures and taonga [treasures] of Aotearoa.
